Neto Hat-Trick Highlights Chelsea’s Ruthless Edge in FA Cup Win at Hull—-Pedro Neto struck a stunning hat-trick as Chelsea cruised past Hull City to reach the fifth round of the FA Cup with a commanding 4–0 victory at the MKM Stadium.
Blues boss Liam Rosenior marked his return to his former club in style, overseeing a dominant display that also saw Estevão Willian get on the scoresheet.
Chelsea took control just before the break when Neto curled a superb 18-yard effort into the bottom-right corner. The Portugal international doubled his tally early in the second half, scoring directly from a corner to put the visitors firmly in command.
Estevão effectively ended the contest just before the hour mark with Chelsea’s third, and Neto completed his hat-trick with 19 minutes remaining to seal an emphatic win. Championship promotion hopefuls Hull rarely threatened and were unable to mount any meaningful response.
Speaking after the match, Liam Delap praised Neto’s influence despite being denied a first-half goal by goalline technology.
“We came here with one task and that was to win,” Delap told TNT Sports. “We showed we can battle and also play some good football, so we are happy.
“Pedro Neto is an incredible player. He is playing in a position he is not even used to but he showed his quality.
“I swear on my life I almost ran off — I thought it went in and was waiting for the referee to blow his whistle. It was silly from me but I thought it was in.
“We have our ways of applying pressure from corners. We have been so close a few times and it’s always nice to see them go in.”
Rosenior, whose tenure began in January with a 5–1 third-round win at Charlton, has now overseen eight wins and one draw in nine matches across all competitions, excluding a two-legged League Cup semi-final defeat to Arsenal.
