JAMB To Introduce Customised Sim Cards For 2025 #UTME Registration—-The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced plans to introduce customised SIM cards for candidates during the 2025 UTME registration process.

This initiative aims to address recurring issues such as SIM theft or loss.

In its Weekly Bulletin, JAMB stated that these customised SIM cards will be introduced next year in collaboration with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). The SIM cards, specifically designed for UTME registration, will feature enhanced security measures and will only be accessible to parents, with a validity period of five years.

Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, the Registrar of JAMB, disclosed these developments during a visit from a delegation of the West Africa Civil Societies Forum (WACSOF). He expressed confidence that the customised SIM cards will effectively resolve the challenges faced during candidates’ registration processes.

Oloyede assured civil society groups of JAMB’s commitment to improving the UTME registration experience, making it more seamless and user-friendly. He emphasized the Board’s dedication to leveraging advanced technology for efficient service delivery across Nigeria.

During the 2024 UTME, many candidates encountered difficulties with registration due to SIM card changes, while others faced issues accessing their results after losing their registered SIM cards.

JAMB stated, “As part of measures to address the perennial challenges of theft or missing Subscriber Identity Module (SIM), the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has concluded arrangements to partner with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to issue UTME candidates with customised phone SIMs for UTME registration.”

Panic as Four-Storey School Building Collapses in Ogba Area of Lagos—-A major tragedy was averted in Lagos State on Monday when a four-storey building housing a school collapsed minutes after students and workers left the premises.

Tribune Online gathered that the incident occurred around 12 noon at 11 Adudatu Street, behind County Hospital in the Aguda area of Ogba, housing Yemco Nursery, Primary and Comprehensive College.

It was gathered that a man in the vicinity raised the alarm that the building was showing signs of distress and was unsafe for people to occupy it.

Also, Tribune Online further learnt that part of the collapsed building, which is being used for residential purposes, remained standing beside the collapsed portion.
