#Arsenal Scores 6 Past Chris Wilder Men, Ruthless #Gunners Keep Title Race Pace—-The Gunners were 3-0 up inside 13 minutes and led 5-0 at half-time against the league’s bottom side.

Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, Declan Rice and Ben White scored – with an own goal from Jayden Bogle – for Mikel Arteta’s team.

The win ensures Arsenal move two points behind leaders Liverpool.

It keeps the Gunners in the thick of the title race, while in contrast Sheffield United are 11 points from safety with just 11 games remaining.

Arsenal scored after five minutes, with the only surprise being that it took them so long. They carved United open down the left, before the ball was cut back for Odegaard – unmarked 10 yards out – to slot home.

The lead was doubled in the 13th minute – Bukayo Saka’s low cross was deflected into his own net by Bogle, who got his legs in a tangle with the ball deflecting off his ankle – and was quickly extended when Martinelli fired in via a deflection after Jakob Kiwior’s cut back.

As fans once again streamed out of Bramall Lane during the first half, Havertz made it 4-0 by tucking into the bottom corner following a Martinelli through ball.

Arsenal cut through United at will, and another slick move of short passes on 39 minutes ended in Rice finishing low past the beleaguered home keeper Ivo Grbic.

The visitors did not ease up after the break, as another well-worked move ended in right-back White firing powerfully past Grbic with his left foot.

The Gunners have become the first English league side to win three consecutive away games by a margin of five or more goals, while United – seemingly doomed to relegation – are the first English league side to lose four consecutive home games in all competitions while conceding five or more goals.

After Liverpool’s last-gasp win at Nottingham Forest on Saturday and Manchester City’s derby victory on Sunday, Arsenal needed to respond here to keep up with the title pace.

They certainly did by taking no pity on limited and passive opponents, demolishing them with ruthless efficiency.

The tone was set inside the opening two minutes when Arsenal hit the bar and had a shot cleared off the line inside. Saka – whose mauling of Auston Trusty down the left for the opening 15 minutes will long haunt the American – cut in from the right, got the ball back via a deflection and cracked a shot off the woodwork, before Martinelli’s follow-up was deflected away.

Arsenal then had the ball in the net a few minutes later, and were away. By 22 minutes, they had reached the 10-shot mark. In the first half, they had 80% possession.

While Sheffield United’s lack of quality will be rightly noted, Arsenal’s attack is firing on double cylinders in 2024. They have scored 31 goals in just seven Premier League games this calendar year, winning them all.

The one downside for Arsenal was Martinelli having to be helped from the pitch in the second half with an injury to his right leg.

In an attempt to get some kind of coherent tune from his beleaguered side, Blades manager Chris Wilder lined up with an unfamiliar back four here, including former Arsenal defender Trusty at left back.

After the third goal, Wilder was hurredly reverting to a back five with the unfortunate Ollie Norwood yanked off, but it had the feeling of rearranging deckchairs on the Titanic – too little, too late.

What will be more worrying for Wilder and United is the response of fans. While many were streaming out of Bramall Lane inside the opening quarter-hour, those who remained could barely be roused to boo their team.

There is a feeling of resignation in the stands, while the anger seems to be more present on the pitch.

In the build up to the fourth goal, Blades captain Anel Ahmedhodzic brutally threw Martinelli to the floor as the Brazilian played a through ball for the German. Advantage was played and Havertz scored.

It was a dreadful piece of play from Ahmedhodzic, and indicates where his team’s heads are right now.

Last-Gasp Valverde Goal Hands Real Madrid Crucial Win

Valverde Goal Hands Real Madrid Crucial Win

Last-Gasp Valverde Goal Hands Real Madrid Crucial Win—-Uruguayan scores in stoppage time as Madrid edge 2–1 victory to move within a point of LaLiga leaders Barcelona.

Celta arrived in excellent form with four consecutive wins in all competitions and looked determined to extend that run early on. Just five minutes in, Borja Iglesias fired a low effort from 20 yards that forced Thibaut Courtois into a sharp save.

However, Real Madrid quickly found their rhythm. Vinicius Junior came close when he broke through and hit the post, and moments later Los Blancos made their pressure count. After Aurelien Tchouameni saw a shot deflected out for a corner, Madrid cleverly worked the set-piece back to the French midfielder, who swept home his first league goal of the season in the 11th minute.

Real had won all 18 LaLiga matches in which they had opened the scoring this season, but Iglesias looked determined to end that record. He first raced onto a through ball only to be denied by Courtois once again.

The striker eventually found his reward in the 25th minute. Williot Swedberg shrugged off Trent Alexander-Arnold on the left flank before squaring the ball for Iglesias to calmly slot home the equaliser.

Chances became scarce as the first half progressed, though Swedberg tested Courtois again just before the break with a powerful side-footed strike that the Belgian goalkeeper did well to keep out.

The second half struggled to produce clear opportunities, with Ferran Jutgla’s near-post effort from a corner in the 60th minute comfortably gathered by Courtois.

Real Madrid began to show more attacking intent as the game wore on. Youngsters Thiago Pitarch and Cesar Palacios both saw their efforts blocked by Carl Starfelt, while Madrid were also left frustrated when a potential handball by Jutgla in the box was overturned after a lengthy VAR check.

Despite dominating possession late on, Los Blancos nearly paid the price for their lack of cutting edge. With three minutes remaining, Iago Aspas struck the post from inside the area, coming agonisingly close to putting Celta ahead.

But just when the hosts looked set to extend their unbeaten run to six matches, disaster struck. A poor clearance fell kindly to Valverde on the edge of the box, and the Uruguayan unleashed a 25-yard strike that took a huge deflection on its way past Ionut Radu to seal victory in the 94th minute.

The dramatic win keeps Real Madrid unbeaten in Vigo since 2014 and firmly in the LaLiga title race.

Arsenal Thrash Tottenham 4–1 at White Hart Lane

Arsenal Thrash Tottenham 4–1 at White Hart Lane Amid Title Race Showdown—-Eberechi Eze struck a timely brace to haunt Tottenham once again and restore Arsenal’s five-point lead at the Premier League summit with a commanding 4–1 north London derby victory.

After surrendering points in back-to-back fixtures against Brentford and Wolves, doubts emerged over Arsenal’s title credentials — yet Arteta’s men answered those concerns with a commanding display on hostile territory.

In a cauldron of noise, Eze ignited the derby with a 32nd-minute opener, only for Randal Kolo Muani to strike back 123 seconds later with the first goal of Igor Tudor’s interim reign. But after the interval, Arsenal seized control, overwhelming Spurs with authority and turning tension into dominance.

Viktor Gyökeres unleashed a magnificent curling effort two minutes after the restart to swing the momentum decisively Arsenal’s way, before Eze capitalised on more slack defending to net his fifth goal of the campaign against a club that had once been favourites to secure the former Crystal Palace playmaker’s signature last summer.

Gyokeres added a second himself in stoppage-time to give Arsenal thoroughly deserved bragging rights over rivals Tottenham, who stay 16th in the table and are only four points off the relegation zone after a sobering start for new boss Tudor.

This was a significant fixture at both ends of the table but while results at the bottom had gone for Spurs, Arsenal’s lead at the top had been cut to two points by Manchester City on Saturday.

Tottenham fans had only watched two Premier League home wins all season and yet a cauldron of noise welcomed the teams with every opposition touch booed.

It failed to knock Arsenal off their stride as Gyokeres had an early header blocked before he drilled wide after seven minutes.

A lengthy delay occurred soon after due to technical issues with the fourth official’s communication system but normal serviced resumed when play continued after William Saliba headed wide from a corner.

Spurs had struggled to get out of their own half and Arsenal deservedly took the lead in the 32nd minute.

Pape Sarr stopped Bukayo Saka’s initial run but the England winger bundled into the area and picked out Eze, who lashed home to silence the home crowd.

Yet, 123 seconds later Spurs produced a surprise equaliser.

Declan Rice was at fault after he was dispossessed by Kolo Muani, who got into the area and rifled through David Raya for a first Premier League goal after 19 appearances.

Tottenham went in level at half-time but only after Guglielmo Vicario brilliantly thwarted Saka and Leandro Trossard fired wide.

After another delay at the start of the second period, Spurs immediately showed better attacking intent and Xavi Simons tested Raya 22 seconds after the restart.

However, Arsenal’s next venture forward resulted in a second goal in the 47th minute.

Jurrien Timber expertly picked out Gyokeres, who was given too much space and angled wonderfully into the corner from 20 yards for the biggest moment of his mixed Gunners career.

Tottenham responded and Kolo Muani had the ball in the back of the net again but it was ruled out for a push on Gabriel Magalhaes.

Tudor had seen enough but before he could get Dominic Solanke on the pitch, Arsenal made it 3-1.

Not long after Vicario had denied Saka, the Arsenal stand-in captain was played in again and while Micky van de Ven halted him, the ball ricocheted off Joao Palhinha and allowed Eze to roll home in the 61st minute.

Solanke was introduced straight after before he was joined by Richarlison, who had a flicked effort wonderfully clawed away by Raya with six minutes left.

A blue pyrotechnic on the pitch produced seven minutes of stoppage-time, which was enough time for Gyokeres to hold off Archie Gray and score again to complete a resounding win for Arsenal.
