Former Leeds Midfielder Joins Westham United On Loan From Man City—-Man city outcast midfielder move to London side Westham United to revive his career after making just 16 PL appearances since joining from Leeds United.

Phillips has made just 31 appearances for City since a £45m transfer from Leeds in July 2022 and Pep Guardiola admitted in December he cannot envisage the England midfielder in his team.

The 28-year-old has now left the Etihad on a temporary basis, though there is an option to join the Hammers permanently.

Phillips flew back on Tuesday from Manchester City’s warm-weather training camp in Abu Dhabi with the rest of the squad.

Crystal Palace and Newcastle also made contact with City about a deal this month, while Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus were also understood to be interested.

Phillips has not managed a single start in the Premier League this season having started just twice last term.

Guardiola revealed before the window that he cannot find a place in his side for the 28-year-old, who has made four league appearances this season, saying: “I visualise the team and I struggle to see him.”

So it’s a good good move for him to get a regular football again till the end of the season and probably he’ll stay at the end of the season if Westham United decide the make the move permanent.

UCL: I’m Questioning Myself – Guardiola Responds To Man City’s 2-0 Defeat To Juventus—-Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has said he is questioning himself after his team suffered a seventh defeat in 10 games against Juventus.

Dusan Vlahovic and Weston McKennie scored in Turin to seal a 2-0 Champions League victory.

City’s next fixture will be away to Paris Saint-Germain and another defeat could send them into the bottom eight of the table and leave the club facing the humiliation of crashing out of the competition.

With the Manchester Derby next on Sunday, Guardiola said he is beginning to question himself as his side lurch from one defeat to another.

“Of course [I am questioning myself]. I have my thoughts,” Guardiola said.

“I’m stable in good moments and bad moments. I try to find a way to do it. I’m incredibly honest. If we play good, we play good.

“The dressing room is stable. Win we are happy, lose we are not. What can we do? Feel sorry for ourselves. No, we improve it and go forward.”
