JUST IN: Amid Ongoing Crisis Udeh-Okoye Resumes As PDP National Secretary—-Thecloudngr reports that the new national secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Sunday Udeh-Okoye, said he has resumed at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

TCN understands that Udeh-Okoye declared that he is acting in compliance with the judgment of the Court of Appeal, which affirmed him as the replacement for Senator Samuel Anyanwu as the party’s National Secretary.

Udeh-Okoye, a former PDP national youth leader, reported at PDP’s Wadata Plaza National Secretariat yesterday, noting that the judgment of the court has been acknowledged by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

PDP had last Tuesday officially received and acknowledged the judgement of the Appeal Court.

PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba on Friday confirmed that the Party had received the judgment and would comply with the Order of the Court.

Anyanwu, who had filed a notice of appeal at the Supreme Court, has reportedly yet to secure an order to stay the execution of the Judgment of the appellate court.

However, interacting with newsmen at the party’s secretariat yesterday, Udeh-Okoye said he was at the PDP’s national secretariat in his capacity as the national secretary of the party in line with the order of court, which has been acknowledged by the party and INEC.
According to him, “The main reason why I am here is to resume office. I am resuming today, the 30th of December in obedience to the Appeal Court in Enugu that sacked the former National secretary and made me the national secretary of PDP.

“I came today to resume office and to also supervise the whole environment and make sure that things are in order. Yes, the staff have gone for x-mas holiday to resume on 13th of January, where this place will be filled with our workers.

“I also appreciate the governors forum that are giving me support. The former minister forum, the BoT, the members of the party, the leaders of the party from my zone, who nominated me and stood by me. Even though there are many challenges before, but the court has fixed it and made a pronouncement on December 20.”

Reasons include inciting division within the party, poor leadership, disrespecting members and the Kano State Governor, and causing setbacks for the party.

This comes amid persistent talks that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf might defect to the APC. Shuaibu Hassan, the NNPP chairman of Gargari Ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, confirmed the expulsion to BBC Hausa.

APC Adopts Bola Oyebamiji as Consensus Candidate

APC Adopts Bola Oyebamiji as Consensus Candidate for Osun Governorship Election—-Bola Oyebamiji, the immediate past Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus candidate for the 2026 Osun State gubernatorial election.

Oyebamiji was adopted on Saturday during the party’s governorship primary in Osogbo after two aspirants, Kunle Adegoke (SAN) and Senator Babajide Omoworare, moved a motion endorsing him as the party’s flagbearer.

The motion was put to a voice vote by the Chairman of the APC governorship primary committee and Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, and it received overwhelming approval from party members in attendance.

Okpebholo thereafter declared Oyebamiji as the party’s candidate.

“By the power conferred on me, I present to you Bola Oyebamiji as the governorship candidate of our party,” Okpebholo announced.

SaharaReporters gathered that the outcome had been largely predetermined, with party leaders earlier indicating that the primary would be conducted by affirmation rather than through a competitive ballot.

The primary election was attended by top APC figures, including Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, who represented Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello.

The development followed the emergence earlier in the week of 1,660 delegates expected to participate in the APC’s December 13 governorship primary.

Multiple sources within the party also confirmed that all seven APC governorship aspirants in Osun had agreed to back a consensus candidate after a late-night meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday.

Former APC National Secretary and one-time Osun governorship aspirant, Senator Iyiola Omisore, had publicly endorsed the consensus arrangement, saying he accepted the decision after consultations with President Tinubu.

Omisore was among seven aspirants earlier disqualified by the APC screening committee over alleged violations of party guidelines and electoral provisions.
