Super Eagles And CF Montreal Striker Pays Health Insurance Enrollment Fees For 110 Beneficiaries—Nigeria’s Super Eagles Striker, Sunusi Ibrahim has paid the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency (NASHIA) enrollment fees for 110 beneficiaries in Nasarawa state for a period of one year.

Newsmen reports Ibrahim who ply his trade with Canada’s Club de Foot Montreal paid the fess through his SI14 Foundation.

Ibrahim made this known while distributing the NASHIA Identification cards for accessing the free healthcare services to the beneficiaries in Keffi Local Government Area on Tuesday.

Speaking to newsmen, Ibrahim said the gesture was to ameliorate the hardships faced by some quarters of the public with regards to easy access to healthcare service delivery.

He said the 110 beneficiaries included the aged, people living with disabilities, children under the age of five, pregnant women, widows, and vulnerable people in the electoral wards in Keffi.

“I made this effort because I know the situation for some people in the country is hard. That is why it is difficult for them to go to the hospital to receive basic healthcare needs.

“So I thought deeply about it and decided to support them by sponsoring their enrollment into the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency,” he said.

Ibrahim said he would continue to work closely with the agency to sensitize locals in Keffi, on the importance of health insurance and get more enrolled to the scheme.

“When they came to me and proposed the idea, I embraced it wholeheartedly because it is a wonderful idea and a noble way to give back to the community,” he said.

He  called on the state and local governments and well-meaning Nigerians, to support the effort by getting more residents enrolled.

Also speaking, Dr Yahaya Ubam, Executive Secretary, NASHIA commended the footballer for the gesture, especially for providing for the less privileged.

“I am very happy with this development. Instead of people throwing out money without properly managing it, he has decided to impact the lives of the people of his community.

“Spending for health from your pocket is capital intensive especially in the present day Nigeria because we all know what is happening.

“Giving little for the healthcare of others is a big gesture. So we thank him and we will continue to work with him and other well-meaning Nigerians to get many others covered by the scheme,” he said.

Mr Nwosu Benedict, a beneficiary, said if more Nigerians can emulate the steps taken by the Nigerian international, the country will be a better place.

“I am happy to be here. It’s not about spraying money here and there. What the young man has done will go a long way in helping some of us have access to healthcare services,” he said.

Ibrahim featured for Nigeria’s Super Eagles during the 2020 African Nations Cup qualifier against Togo and also played for Nigeria’s Under-23 side.

Chelsea Losing Streak Hits Six as Forest Close in on Safety

Chelsea Losing Streak Hits Six

Chelsea Losing Streak Hits Six as Forest Close in on Safety—-Chelsea’s miserable end to the season reached another damaging milestone as they slumped to a sixth consecutive league defeat, losing 3-1 to a resurgent Nottingham Forest side. The result marks the first time since November 1993 that the Chelsea have lost six league matches in a row, underlining the depth of their current crisis.

Already enduring their worst run since 1912, the Blues showed little sign of recovery as Forest struck early and never looked back. Taiwo Awoniyi opened the scoring inside two minutes, setting the tone for a dominant away performance. Forest doubled their lead from the penalty spot after Malo Gusto brought down Awoniyi in the box, allowing Igor Jesus to convert.

Awoniyi added his second of the night early in the second half, finishing from a low delivery by Morgan Gibbs-White to make it 3-0 and effectively end the contest.

The moment was further overshadowed by a worrying collision that saw Jesse Derry stretchered off and taken to hospital.

Chelsea’s frustrations continued to mount. Cole Palmer saw his first-half penalty saved by Matz Sels, while a potential goal from João Pedro was ruled out for offside after a VAR review.

Pedro did eventually provide a moment of quality, scoring a stunning stoppage-time bicycle kick from a Marc Cucurella cross to end Chelsea’s goal drought, which had stretched over nine hours of play. However, it proved to be little more than a consolation.

The Blues, currently under interim boss Calum McFarlane following the dismissal of Liam Rosenior, have now gone without a Premier League win since January. Their recent defeats have been particularly heavy, with this result nearly marking a fourth 3-0 loss in five games.

Chelsea remain ninth in the table, now 10 points adrift of the Champions League places and increasingly at risk of slipping into the bottom half. Meanwhile, Forest’s impressive run under Vitor Pereira continues, with the club now unbeaten in seven matches and sitting six points clear of the relegation zone.

Chelsea Handed Major Injury Boost

Chelsea Handed Major Injury Boost as James and Colwill Return—-Chelsea FC have received a timely boost ahead of a crucial run of fixtures, with captain Reece James and defender Levi Colwill both returning to full training.

Colwill, who has been sidelined since pre-season with a serious knee injury, is yet to feature for Chelsea’s first team this season. His absence has been keenly felt in defence, with the club forced to cope without one of its most highly rated young centre-backs.

The 23-year-old is now back in full training as he nears a long-awaited return, although he is expected to build match fitness gradually before being considered for senior selection.

Captain James, meanwhile, has also returned after his own injury setback, offering a significant boost in leadership and quality on the right flank.

With a series of important fixtures approaching, Chelsea will be encouraged by the return of both players as they aim to finish the season strongly.

While neither player may be rushed straight back into action, their availability at this stage of the campaign could prove crucial for the Blues.
