Selena Gomez Reveals She Can’t Give A Birth, Considering Surrogacy/Adoption—In a candid interview with Vanity Fair, Selena Gomez has discussed the significant impact her health issues have had on her future plans, particularly regarding starting a family.

The American singer and actress revealed that her ongoing battle with lupus, an autoimmune disorder she has struggled with since her diagnosis in 2013, has influenced her ability to carry a child.

Gomez, who underwent a kidney transplant in 2017 due to complications from lupus, shared that her condition makes it medically risky for her to carry her own children.

“If this is where I’m at, what’s most important to me? The answer was family,” she reflected.

She explained, “Unfortunately, I can’t carry my own children due to medical issues that would put both my life and the baby’s at risk. It was something I had to grieve for a while.” Despite these challenges, Gomez remains hopeful about her future as a mother.

Gomez acknowledged that while this is not how she initially envisioned her path to motherhood, she is embracing alternatives such as surrogacy and adoption.

“I’m thankful for these options,” she said. “There are so many people who long to be moms, and I’m one of them. I’m excited for what that journey will look like, even if it’s different. In the end, I don’t care—it’ll be my baby, and that’s what matters.”

Her openness about these personal struggles and her positive outlook on the future highlight her resilience and hope for a fulfilling family life despite the obstacles she faces.
