Alan Shearer Release His Premier League 2024/25 TOTS

Premier League’s all-time record goalscorer selects best XI featuring players from six clubs

With a thrilling 2024/25 Premier League campaign drawing to a close, Alan Shearer has selected his Team of the Season.

The Premier League record goalscorer and Hall of Fame inductee has revealed who he considers to have been the standout performers over the past 10 months, and gives honourable mentions to those who just missed out on his team.

Four players have been picked from champions Liverpool, with Arne Slot also named Shearer’s best manager of the season.

Runners-up Arsenal boast two players, the same number as EFL Cup winners Newcastle United. Stars from three other teams also feature in Shearer’s line-up.

Alisson (Liverpool)
“Every team that wins the title has to have a brilliant goalkeeper at the top of his game, and Alisson has been just that for Liverpool. If he’d played every match, he’d surely have been competing for the Golden Glove award with the likes of Nottingham Forest’s Matz Sels, who’s also been superb this season.”

Daniel Munoz (Crystal Palace)
“One of the best attacking full-backs in the Premier League, certainly on the right, where he just pips Trent Alexander-Arnold to a place in my team. He hardly misses a minute, and scoring four goals this season, including the winner against Palace’s great rivals Brighton, has made him a real fans’ favourite.”

Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool)
“Imperious and unflappable as always, even when there was so much uncertainty about whether this would be his last season at Liverpool. He put that to bed by signing a new contract in April, just a few days after taking his team to the brink of the title with a last-gasp winner against West Ham. Despite a great season for Dan Burn, there’s no way I can leave Van Dijk out.”

William Saliba (Arsenal)
“A rock at the heart of the meanest Premier League defence for a second season running and, despite Arsenal ultimately being unable to hunt down Liverpool, Saliba deserves his place in my team for a third year in a row. It was a close call between him and Forest defender Nikola Milenkovic, who has had a fantastic campaign, helping secure European football next season.”

Milos Kerkez (AFC Bournemouth)
“The left-back has energised AFC Bournemouth and is as good going forward as he is defensively. Missing just one match, his creativity has been key to the club’s excellent season. He edges out Josko Gvardiol, who has been outstanding for Manchester City despite a difficult campaign.”

Declan Rice (Arsenal)
“Technically superb and incredibly strong in his duels, Rice has enjoyed another standout season in the Premier League, while his inspired displays took Arsenal to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League. He keeps out Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch.”

Alexis Mac Allister (Liverpool)
“He has made great strides under Arne Slot, hardly missing a match, and is the engine that has powered the champions. His dominance in midfield is a big reason why Liverpool have been so good. He nudges out the excellent Morgan Rogers.”

Sandro Tonali (Newcastle)
“He has proved why he is so important to Newcastle, and why he is adored by the supporters. Tonali has stood out in a midfield packed with talent, and moving into more of a holding role has really transformed the Magpies’ season. His flexibility edges out Wolves’ Matheus Cunha.”

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)
“The easiest decision of them all. Has a player ever had a better Premier League season? With 46 goal involvements, the Golden Boot, a winners’ medal around his neck and surely more awards surely to come, Salah has shone brightest. Jacob Murphy won’t be too upset about being my next in line.”

Alexander Isak (Newcastle)
“One of the best No 9s in Europe. He’s had a fantastic season, but he’s just unlucky that Salah has been so phenomenal, as 23 goals would be enough to win him the Golden Boot in some seasons. Chris Wood and Yoane Wissa have also impressed throughout the campaign, so they deserve a mention here too.”

Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford)
“Has taken his game to new heights this season, registering 19 Premier League goals and seven assists. Even when Brentford haven’t been at their absolute best, he has delivered the goods win in, week out. An honourable mention for Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze.”

Manager: Arne Slot (Liverpool)
“We have seen some sharp declines when influential long-term figures leave big clubs, but Liverpool fans needn’t have worried. They’re in safe hands with Slot, who has taken the club to a new level with the players that were already there. What a job he’s done.”

BREAKING: Vinícius Rescues Brazil as Morocco Hold Selecao to Thrilling World Cup Opener—-Morocco stunned the five-time champions with an early breakthrough before Vinícius Júnior’s moment of brilliance earned Brazil a hard-fought 1-1 draw in Group C.

Brazil were forced to settle for a point in their opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after a spirited Morocco side held the South American giants to a 1-1 draw in a captivating Group C encounter at MetLife Stadium.

The Atlas Lions struck first in the 21st minute when Ismael Saibari latched onto a perfectly weighted pass from Brahim Díaz before calmly lifting the ball over goalkeeper Alisson Becker to give Morocco a deserved lead. The African side’s intensity and organization troubled Brazil throughout the opening stages.

Brazil responded through their star man Vinícius Júnior, who produced a moment of individual brilliance in the 32nd minute. The Real Madrid winger drove into the box and unleashed a powerful finish beyond Yassine Bounou to restore parity and ignite the Brazilian supporters.

Despite enjoying more possession after the break, Brazil struggled to break down a disciplined Moroccan defence. Morocco, meanwhile, continued to threaten on the counterattack and arguably created the clearer opportunities in the closing stages.

The result leaves Group C finely poised, with both teams earning a valuable point in what was billed as one of the most anticipated fixtures of the opening round. While Brazil avoided an early setback thanks to Vinícius’ heroics, Morocco once again demonstrated why they remain one of the most dangerous sides on the international stage.

BREAKING: PSG Retain Champions League Title After Penalty Shootout Victory Over Arsenal

BREAKING: PSG Retain Champions League Title After Penalty Shootout Victory Over Arsenal—-French champions edge Gunners 4-3 on penalties in Budapest to secure back-to-back European crowns.

Paris Saint-Germain successfully defended their UEFA Champions League title after defeating Arsenal 4-3 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in the final at Budapest’s Puskás Aréna. PSG became only the second club in the modern Champions League era to retain the trophy in successive seasons.

Arsenal made the perfect start to the final when Kai Havertz fired the Premier League champions into an early lead in the sixth minute, giving Mikel Arteta’s side hope of winning the club’s first-ever Champions League title.

The holders responded in the second half, with Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembélé converting a penalty in the 65th minute after a foul on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, bringing PSG level and setting up a tense finish.

Neither side could find a winner during the remainder of normal time or extra time, forcing the final into a dramatic penalty shootout. PSG held their nerve from the spot, while Arsenal defender Gabriel missed the decisive penalty, blasting his effort over the crossbar.

The victory caps another remarkable European campaign for Luis Enrique’s side, who reached the final after eliminating FC Bayern Munich in the semi-finals and entered the showpiece as defending champions.

For Arsenal, the defeat is a heartbreaking end to an otherwise historic season. Arteta’s men arrived in Budapest having won their first Premier League title in 22 years and reached their first Champions League final since 2006, but they fell just short of completing a memorable double.

PSG’s triumph further cements their place among Europe’s elite, while Arsenal will be left to reflect on a campaign that brought domestic glory but ended in European heartbreak.
