JUST IN: Jigawa Govt. Imposes 24-Hours Curfew As Protest Turns Violent—-In response to the nationwide protests that escalated into violence in Jigawa State on Thursday, the state government has implemented an indefinite 24-hour curfew to prevent further unrest.

Governor Malam Namadi announced the curfew during a broadcast on Thursday night, expressing deep concern over the turn of events. He condemned the violence and looting that marred the initially peaceful demonstrations, stating that such actions are unacceptable and contrary to the state’s values.

“The violent turn of these demonstrations, marked by destruction and looting, is completely unacceptable and goes against our cultural norms. We cannot allow this to continue unchecked,” Governor Namadi asserted.

To restore peace and order, the governor declared a 24-hour curfew. However, he made an exception for Friday prayers, allowing residents to attend between 12:00 PM and 2:30 PM.

Governor Namadi emphasized that the state government, in collaboration with security agencies, will continuously monitor the situation and take necessary measures to protect the lives and property of citizens from criminal elements.
